Hassan’s Present Healthcare Scenario
As per 2011 review by local newspaper, Hassan’s healthcare services are still not up to the marks. The taluk health centers are not sufficiently equipped with medical facilities, and hence patients have to be rushed to the district hospital in emergency. To cope with these problems the District Health Officer (DHO) has announced that doctors should visit these centres twice in a week. The State government has offered Rs. 25,000 a month for general medical officers and Rs. 50,000 for specialists. The general medical officers are asked to serve at least 5 years in different rural areas for betterment of health facilities across the district. Apart from district hospitals few nursing homes have also been set up to provide better standard of health services.
